Maybe if you're detoxing or have severe dissociative disorders this place is alright, but if you're simply depressed or suffering from anxiety, seek help elsewhere.

Avoid the inpatient medical care at Jefferson if at all possible. If you have an IQ over 70 or aren't detoxing from hard drugs, your care is limited to minutes each day.

My mom waa recently a patient there in the ER. The 1st female nurse who was younger who gave initial care to her was not friendly or engaging at all. The second nurse who took blood and put the bair hugger on her for warmth was very nice and friendly. He spoke to her in a very caring and to me. After surgery my mom was taken to the ICU for 4 days. All of the ICU nurses complained about how the ER nurse are sloppy about the open port for blood access / dressind was done. It sounded like that was expected when a patient is in the ER transitioning to ICU second floor. However, every nurse in the ICU was extremely patient, attentive to my mom , helpful, engaging and easy to talk to when I asked questions. The docs where very good when reporting my moms progress or lack of. They were sympathetic. There were about 4 or 5 different docs that had different specialties all that were taking care of here. Dr Sims really helped me understand where things were headed to decide my next steps. The pallative care team were also very helpful with the decision i had to make. I want to thank the many nurses that helped my mom every day. To name a few, Adrienne, Elizabeth, Renee,Kristy and Amanda. They all really took care of my mom every step of the way and they were very truthful with what was happening and CARING. Even the lady who cleaned my moms room was so sweet and had also lost her mom (I am sorry her name escapes me right now she was in our icu room 2011 dec 11-15 2017). She changed careers to help others and was very engaging with family members with her thoughts and prayers. I really hope that AHN really invest time and effort into there employees to make them happy workers and want to make Jefferson hospital a good place to be when one becomes sick.

You won't be allowed to have proper writing utensils, phones, or any other sort of entertainment. Stimulation is limited to third-grade level art therapy.

I was just there and while leaving. You had 2 or 3 nurses bitching about there jobs in front of patients family. While walking I did yell at them saying they need to shut the hell up and quit bitching about what they have to do at work. I am in the medical field as well and I would never acted like that in front of family members. They knew what they were getting themselves set up for when the got their degrees. If they can't handle their jobs so much they should just quit and go work somewhere else or reevaluate their careers. Tbh they should be fired one was a heavy set blonde girl and the other was a chunky blonde. Very unprofessional and I would be ashamed of having them work for your business. Let alone to go by on the room and there is a man just laying in his own blood and dried up blood on the floors. These patients are people and need care. And from what I witnessed today I would never recommend my family member to come to this hospital.

You'll be forced to have a roommate during your stay who may be suffering from severe detox symptoms or even schizophrenia, making it hard to sleep even when medically sedated.

I find Jefferson Hospital to be one of the best hospitals I have been in. I have had a knee replacement, various tests, scans, mri, etc and have always found them extremely efficient. I consider them to run like a well oiled machine. I have also been a patient in the hospital and found their care and efficiency above what I've found anywhere else. I have my whole team of Doctors at Jefferson and am so glad I chose them as my hospital of choice. The doctors are excellent also.

Went into the ER for passing out after 3 days of headache, weakness, throwing up, chest pains. They did a MRI on my stomach—diagnosed me with stomach pains. Nurses were openly complaining and the doctor treated me like I was a junkie (I hate hospitals so I rarely go—hubby rushed me here by car). I got complimented for my blood after it took them 2hrs to review my blood results. Not weird at all (sarcasm). Talking to the doctor was like trying to explain a thesis to a 2 year old—and the nurse were disinterested and a lot worse. Took my glasses off for the MRI—they never gave them back and on the following morning said there were no glasses there. Needless to say, found something more serious when I went elsewhere but I got stuck with an out of network bill of $12k for a stomach ache diagnosis.
